Nine Student Athletes Named to Fall 2019 All-Academic Team

WATERVILLE, ME.-Nine Northern Vermont University-Johnson student-athletes were named to the Fall 2019 North Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team on Thursday morning.

The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) is proud to announce that 177 student athletes representing twelve institutions and seven sports have been named to the Fall 2019 NAC All-Academic Team. This marks the most student athletes to receive All-Academic Team honors since the fall of 2017. 

In order to be eligible for NAC All-Academic Team honors, a student athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, and must have competed in two NAC sport seasons. Student athletes who competed in men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, men's golf, women's tennis, and women's volleyball were eligible for the Fall 2019 award. Each institution is responsible for submitting eligible student athletes for the All-Academic Team.

The following Northern Vermont University-Johnson student-athletes were named to the 2019 Fall All-Academic Team:

Sheldon Billings (Ossipee, N.H.), a junior men's cross-country runner and health science major. Billings earned Sportsmanship Team honors this past season.

Lawson Ouellette (North Thetford, Vt.), a sophomore men's cross-country runner and business management major.

Garrison French (New Berlin, NY.), a sophomore golf athlete and art major. 

Jesse Streeter (Richmond, Vt.), a senior golf athlete and history major.

Kaden Swett (Brownington, Vt.), a sophomore golf athlete and business management major.

Emily Cass (Braintree, Vt.), a senior cross-country runner and mathematics major.

Jaden Gray (Clinton, ME.), a junior women's soccer athlete and biology major. 

Christina Wheelock (Eden, Vt.), a senior women's soccer athlete and health science major.

Kristen Tirrito (Waterville, Vt.), a junior women's tennis athlete and childhood education major.

 

The North Atlantic Conference currently has nine full member institutions including SUNY Canton, SUNY Delhi, UMaine-Farmington, Husson University, Northern Vermont University (NVU)-Johnson and NVU-Lyndon, Maine Maritime Academy, Thomas College, and UMaine-Presque Isle. Three associate members, Castleton Univeristy, Lesley University, and MCLA, also compete in fall NAC sports. The NAC celebrates the individual uniqueness of each institution, student athlete, coach, administrator, staff member, spectator, official, and ally.
