WATERVILLE, ME.- Ten Northern Vermont University-Johnson student-athletes were named to the 2019-2020 North Atlantic Conference Winter/Spring All-Academic Team.
Of the 186 student athletes on the 2019-2020 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team, six competed in both a winter and a spring sport. Impressively, forty-six student athletes (25%) matched academic achievement with athletic success and earned All-Conference honors in their sport - 27 First Team and 19 Second Team. Twenty-one honorees also represented their schools on the NAC Sportsmanship Team for their sport.
In order to be eligible for NAC All-Academic Team honors, a student athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, and must have competed in two NAC sport seasons. Each institution is responsible for submitting eligible student athletes for the All-Academic Team. The NAC Winter/Spring All-Academic Team recognizes student athletes in winter sports (men's and women's basketball) and spring sports (baseball, softball, men's tennis, men's and women's lacrosse, and men's and women's outdoor track & field).
The following Northern Vermont University-Johnson student-athletes were named to the 2019-2020 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team:
Lawson Ouellette (North Thetford, Vt.), a sophomore men's basketball athlete and business management major.
Melissaann Clark (Philadelphia, PA), a sophomore women's basketball athlete and women's track and field athlete, while also working towards a double major in mathematics and accounting.
Christle Page (South Ryegate, Vt.), a senior women's basketball athlete and biology major. Page was also named to the 2020 North Atlantic Conference Sportmanship Team.
Sheldon Billings (Ossipee, N.H.), a junior men's track and field athlete and health science major.
Garrison French (New Berlin, N.Y), a sophomore men's track and field athlete and art major.
Jaden Gray (Clinton, ME), a junior women's track and field athlete and biology major.
Laura Dattilio (South Burlington, Vt.), a junior softball athlete and mathematics major.
Savannah Dufrense (Swanton, Vt.), a junior softball athlete and childhood education major.
Annika Dyhrberg (Falmouth, ME), a junior softball athlete and childhood education major.
Nicole Mooney (Hillsborough, N.H.), a junior softball athlete and pre-physical therapy major.
The NAC currently has nine full member institutions including SUNY Canton, SUNY Delhi, UMaine-Farmington, Husson University, Northern Vermont University-Johnson, Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, Maine Maritime Academy, Thomas College, and UMaine-Presque Isle. Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) competes as an associate member in two spring sports, men's tennis and men's lacrosse.
