LeCours Named Senior Woman Administrator

Northern Vermont University-Johnson Director of Athletics Greg Eckman is happy to announce that women's basketball Associate Head Coach Hayley LeCours '17 has been named as the incoming Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) for the department. LeCours, a member of the Badgers athletics staff since 2015, was also recently announced as Johnson's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor for the coming year.

The Senior Woman Administrator role was introduced to college athletic departments in 1981 by the NCAA with the goal of promoting meaningful representation of women in college athletic departments. LeCours was selected for the position after the departure of Michele Whitmore, who had served as the Badgers' SWA since 2012.

"I am very thankful for (Athletics Director) Greg Eckman and the leadership team within the department for giving me the opportunity to take on these additional responsibilities," said LeCours. "I am excited to serve as SWA and to work with our student-athletes in this new capacity year-round."

LeCours has a long history with the Johnson Athletic department. She first joined as a Student Manager to the women's basketball team as a junior, was promoted to Assistant Coach the following season and stayed in that role until 2018 when Hayley was named Associate Head Coach. She expanded her role within the department in the fall of 2018 when she accepted a two-year position as a Graduate Assistant working with the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and Event Management. Since the completion of her program, LeCours has continued to be a presence within the Johnson athletics community.

LeCours graduated from Johnson State College in 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Secondary Education.
