Saturday 2/4/23

 

Men's Basketball: 

Saturday Men's Basketball traveled to SUNY Canton. This was a close back and forth game with the lead swapping teams the entire time. In the first half SUNY Canton was up 36-39. But coming out of the half down didn't deter our Badgers. They still fought and continued to exchange leads back and forth. The biggest lead of the game was our Badgers up by 7 the score being 57-50 with 13 minutes left of the game. But even after that the lead wasn't safe and every minute a the leads would swap. With 30 seconds remaining of the game it was tied 85-85 and Maleek View was able to get the game winning and 1 layup putting them up 88-85 and SUNY Canton was unable to score. 

The Standout performances were Samuel Stephens with 10 points, Raymond Baka with the double-double 17 points and 15 rebounds while adding on 2 steals and 3 blocks on the defensive end, Yeskin Walker Williams with 20 points, and Maleek View with 29 points

This puts their record at 9-12

Their next game is at SUNY Cobleskill on Friday (2/10/23) at 7:30 PM

 

Women's Basketball

Saturday Women's Basketball also traveled to SUNY Canton. The first half was close as going into the half tied 48-48. But coming out of the half sadly our Women Badger's just slowly fell behind scoring only 16 points in the third quarter and 19 points in the fourth compared to SUNY Canton's 23 and 22 points. The final score being us falling to SUNY Canton 83-93. 

The Standout performances were Hattie Moriarty with 11 points, Paris Atuahene with 13 points, Emma Buonanno with the double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Devyn Thompson with 18 points, and Gabrielle Wardwell with the double-double as well with 18 points and 20 rebounds.

This puts their record at 12-9

 

Men's Volleyball

Saturday Men's Volleyball head a tri-match at home against Colby-Sawyer and Dean College. The first match was up against Colby Sawyer College. Our Badgers were able to sweep Colby Sawyer in 3 straight sets the scores being 25-15, 25-12, and 25-22. As a team their hitting average was .320 with 33 kills and had 15 service aces with 33 digs.

The Standout Performances were Bar Suster with 5 kills on 12 attempts hitting a .417 while adding 4 serivce aces and a solo block and 2 assisted blocks for 11 points while getting 6 digs, Xee Anderson with 5 kills off of 10 attempts hitting a .300 with 4 service aces and a block assist as well giving him 9.5 points he also had 14 assists and lead the game with 8 digs, Sam Munson had 5 kills off of 10 attempts hitting a .400, Luke Walters had 4 kills of off 9 attempts hitting a .444 as well as adding 4 service aces and a block assist for 8.5 points, Austin White had 4 kills off of 11 attempts hitting a .273 while adding a solo and assisted block giving him 5.5 points,Eli Harden had 11 assists, and Dominic Phelps had 10 kills off of 18 attempts hitting a .333 adding on 2 service aces and an assisted block for 12.5 points adding on 5 digs as well. 

The next match against Dean College was also won in three sets in confident fashion the scores being 25-10, 25-16, and 25-17. As a team they had 29 kills hitting a .303, 17 service aces, and 30 digs.

The Standout performances were Eli Harden leading the game with 14 assists, Luke Walters with 3 kills and a game leading 6 service aces with 9 points as well as having a team high of 6 digs, Austin White with 5 kills, 3 serivce aces, and a block assist for 8.5 points as well as 5 digs, Bar Suster with 5 kills of 10 attempts hitting a .300, a service ace, and 2 block assists for 7 points, Dominic Phelps with 5 kills off of 6 attempts hitting a .667 with a block assist for 5.5 points, and Xee Anderson with 9 kills off of 14 attempts hitting a .571, with 4 service aces, 1 solo block and 2 assisted for a total of 15 points, as well as adding 6 assists and 4 digs.

This puts their record at 4-0 and as well a 4 game winning streak

Their next game is away for another tri-match at Dean College where they play Dean College and Kings PA at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM

 

Sunday 2/5/23

 

Women's Basketball:

Sunday our Women Badger's Basketball played at home against Hartford for their senior night where we celebrated the 4 seniors on the team being, Matt House, Devyn Thompson, Emma Buonanno, and Hattie Moriarty and thanked them for their hard work for the program. Out of the gate Hartford was out to a hot start outscoring our Badgers 24-12 in the first quarter but they were able to pick up the pace in the second stopping their offense and both teams scored 10 points in the second quarter. But going into the half our Badgers were down 22-34. Our Badgers refused to give up though and came out the half hot scoring 19 points to Hartfords 14. Going into the final quarter our badgers were only down by 7 but sadly our Badgers couldn't close the gap and the final score was 53-63.

The Standout Performances were  Gabrielle Wardwell with the double-double of 15 points and 23 rebounds and Paris Atuahene with 26 points and 3 steals on the defensive end.

This puts their record at 12-10

Their next game is away at SUNY Cobleskill on Friday (2/10/23) at 5:30 PM
