Softball Team Celebrates Seniors with Doubleheader Split: One Victory, One Defeat

Wednesday 26th

The softball team celebrated the seniors Matea Smith and Kayla Irick before the double header game against New England College and thanked them for their time and hard work towards bettering the program. 

The first game our Badgers played a competitive softball game against New England College, but unfortunately lost 7-2. The game slipping away late in the 6th inning. Makenna Drake and Mariah Muskin both had RBIs, and Matea Smith also had a stolen base. Abby Terry had 4 strike outs as well.

In the second game our Badgers didn't give up and came back determined for the second game. With a score of 9-8 our Badgers were able to claim Victory.  At the plate, our Badgers had 13 hits, including four doubles. Brianna Belisle and Abby Terry led the way with three hits apiece, while Nadia Claude added two hits, including a double. Belisle also had two RBIs, while Terry drove in two runs. On the mound, Mariah Muskin started the game for Northern Vermont-Johnson, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing 13 hits and eight runs (seven earned) with three strikeouts. Alexis Fleischer came in for the final 1.2 innings, giving up two hits and no runs with one strikeout. Overall, it was a strong performance by our Badgers, who managed to hold off a late surge by New England College to secure the victory with their excellent defense.
