Badgers Lose in Non Conference Matchup

Henniker, NH.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's basketball team fell to New England College by a score of 73-33 on Wednesday evening.

 The Badgers struggled to score in the first half. Former North Atlantic Conference rival New England College controlled the pace of the game on Wednesday evening. The Pilgrims outscored the Badgers 41-14 in the first half. The Badgers earned the first lead of the game on a layup by Tyhee Taylor( Philadelphia, PA). Izaiah Winston-Brooks tied the score with a layup of his own. Northern Vermont University-Johnson grabbed a five-point lead. But the pilgrims never backed down as they would out score the Badgers by a 28-4 margin in the final 15 minutes of the half. .The Pilgrims continued to control the pace in the second half outscoring the Badgers by a score of 32-19.

The Badgers struggled to control the backboards Hayden Tomlinson (Bradford, Vt.) grabbed a team high seven rebounds. The Badgers collected 34 rebounds while the Pilgrims collected 48. Patrick Austin (Andover, NY) led the Badgers in scoring with seven points. But the efforts to control possession of the ball was a struggle for the Badgers as they turned the ball over 31 times. Winston-Brooks and Jason Jones led the Pilgrims offensively. Winston-Brooks scored 13 points while Jones followed adding 12 points.

With the loss the Badgers fall to 0-3 and the Pilgrims improve to 3-0.
