Badgers Conclude Season with Loss to Panthers

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's basketball team was back in Carter Gym on Saturday afternoon to face Plymouth State University in the season finale of the 2020-21 campaign. The Badgers dropped the contest by a score of 89-64.

Malik Moore was the top performer for the Badgers pouring in a team high 14 points and five rebounds. Romelle Watt added 11 pints off the bench with five boards, two assists and a steal.

It was neck and neck in the opening minutes with the Panthers with the slight 10-6 advantage before a made three from Robert Dubose Jr. cut the lead to just one point. The Panthers quickly responded going on a 7-0 run. The Badgers would eventually claw their way back and tie it at 20 apiece. Plymouth would eventually take a nine-point lead headed into the half.

In the second half the Panthers controlled the pace and continued to have a solid offensive attack outscoring the Badgers 41-25 and earning the win.

Tom Johnson led all scorers with 16 points. Manny Sanchez added 15 points and Devin Cooper added 11 points for the Panthers.

With the loss men's basketball concludes the season with a 2-5 record.
