Men's Golf Finishes in 12th at SLU Invitational

CANTON, N.Y. - Johnson men's golf finished in 12th place in the rain-shortened SLU Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.  First round action was cancelled on Saturday due to rain and on Sunday it was the host Saints that scored a low of 298 to win the event.  New York University came in second with a 301, and Middlebury College was third with a 303.

SLU's Jack Whelan took Medalist honors with a low score of 69 besting NYU's Xavier Bina's 71 by two shots.  Brandon Lustig, playing for SLU Brown, came in third with a 72.

Johnson finished with a 364 for the day and was led by juniors Tom Kilbourn (Bantam, Conn./Litchfield) and Josh Reed (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) who eached carded 89's on the day and finishing tied for 53rd.  Sophomore Bucky King (Fairfield, Mass./Hamilton-Wenham) (pictured) and freshman Kevin Dwyer (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) each fired a 93 to tie for 58th.  Sophomore Cory Chase (Milton, Vt./Milton) came in 61st shooting a 97.
