Johnson to Play in 2015 NAC Men's Golf Championship on Oct. 9

Castleton and the Rutland Country Club (Rutland, Vt.) will play host to the 2015 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Golf Championship Friday and Saturday, October 9 and 10.

The 36-hole event will begin Friday at 10:30 a.m., and will conclude Saturday after all rounds have been completed. Tee times for Saturday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Eight teams will vie for the 2015 conference title that was captured by Salem State a season ago. Prior to the Vikings earning the 2014 championship, Husson held the title for eight-straight seasons. The NAC champion will earn the conference's automatic bid into the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.

A look back at the 2014 Championship

The Eagles, who were vying for their ninth-straight conference title, earned a one-stroke lead with a 20-over-par score of 308. Salem State sat in second, one shot back, while Castleton finished day 1 tied for third along with Maine Maritime, after each team shot a 316 (+28) on the 6,514 yard, par-72 course. UMaine-Farmington (344), MCLA (362), and Johnson State (418) rounded out the NAC field after day one.

Castleton carded the second best team-score of the day, 319, to finish in third with a two-day total of 635.
