Jay Peak, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's golf team placed third overall in the NVU-Johnson Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Badgers were led by Austin Walters who paced the team to a third-place finish. Walters was tied with Castleton's Nick Ojala leading all golfers after Friday's action shooting a 76. Walters continued to pace the Badgers during action Saturday scoring a 78 and coming in second overall for the tournament. 

Kaden Swett was impressive for the Badgers rounding out the top five overall, but it wasn't enough as Castleton University's Ojala, Tripp Norris and Jacob Erwin all earned spots in the top five to propel Castleton to a first place team finish. Ojala earned Medalist honors after staying consistent for the tournament shooting a 76 each day for a total score of 152.
