Men's Golf Announces Commitment From Lafe Pottala

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's golf program and Head Coach Bill Boldwin announced the commitment of Lafe Pottala this past week. 

Pottala a native of Manchester, Vermont and currently a student-athlete at the Stratton Mountain School has signed the necessary paperwork and committed to Bill Boldwin for the fall of 2020. Pottala plans to pursue a degree in Business when he arrives at NVU-Johnson. 

"I chose NVU-Johnson because of the relationship I have with Coach Boldwin. I first got into playing golf in the summer of 2019 and shortly after meeting Coach Boldwin I knew playing golf for him and attending NVU was the right decision." 

Pottala has built a stellar resume off the links at Stratton Mountain School. Stratton Mountain School is an elite winter sports academy in Vermont and Pottala has made his mark competing and qualifying in Nordic Skiing. In 2011, Pottala qualified for the Vermont State Championship. A few years later qualified for the Junior New England Championship and New England Championship. In 2015, Pottala qualified and competed in the French, Swiss and Italian Championship in Nordic Skiing. 

"I am very excited to be part of a sports team again. I look forward to meet the team and I am extremely excited to get started with Coach Boldwin and learn what he has to offer me," said Pottala. 

 

The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's golf team and Head Coach Bill Boldwin plan to announce additional commitments in the near future.
