ESSEX, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's golf program kicked off their season at the Essex Country Club on Saturday afternoon where they hosted Castleton University in a dual match. The Badgers won the match with a score of 354.

The Badgers were led by Kaden Swett who earned medalist honors on the afternoon shooting a 76. Newcomer Joe Giroux was impressive shooting a 78. Lafe Pottala and Garrison French wrapped up the scoring for the Badgers as Pottala scored 98 followed by French with a 102. 

Alex Maunula was the top performer for the Spartans shooting a team best 83. A.J. Tatton followed with a score of 89, Kyle Alaverdy recorded a 95 and Nick Gravina rounded out the Spartans scores shooting a 96.
