JOHNSON, Vt. - Johnson State men's lacrosse first-year student-athlete Nash Garceau (North Haven, Conn./North Haven) has been named North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week.

Garceau, a Hotel Tourism Management major, helped Johnson to a 1-1 week last week including the team's first win of the young season.  The Badgers sit at 1-2 overall, 0-1 NAC.

The first-year attackman scored in both contests for the Badgers last week.  Garceau netted a single goal in a 20-3 NAC loss at Castleton State College on Saturday and added a pair of groundballs.  Garceau the sparked JSC to a 7-4 non-conference road win on Sunday against previously undefeated Rivier College by scoring a goal and assisting on another while picking up four groundballs.

Garceau and the Badgers will return to the field on Saturday when the face NAC foe New England College at 1:00 pm, also the Badgers home-opener on Minaert Field.
