Johnson Topples Wheelock 12-0

The Johnson State College men's soccer team delivered a 12-0 blow to their host Wheelock College Saturday night to pick up the team's first win of the season. Due to a thirty minute delay for severe lightning and dark conditions on the field, the match was called after just 70 minutes of play. Johnson State improves to 1-3 overall while Wheelock falls to 0-3 on the season.

The Badgers, who held an impressive 8-0 lead at the half, were led by sophomore forward Nihad Basic, freshman forward Dominic Caforia who each tallied three goals a piece. Freshman Sean Springer netted two goals and notched two assists in the Badgers winning effort.

Junior Alex Pakatar earned the win for the Badgers with four stops while Wheelock goalkeeper Evan Conway was saddled with the loss, despite his 10 saves.

Johnson State resumes their schedule on Sunday, September 7 at Fisher College at 2:00pm. Wheelock returns to action on Thursday, September 11 when they travel to Quincy for a 4:30pm matchup at Eastern Nazarene College.
