Badgers Pick Up Second Win on the Weekend

The Johnson State College men's soccer team picked up its second win in a row defeating host Fisher College 3-0 Sunday evening. Johnson State improves to 2-3 overall while Fisher falls to 0-1 on the season.

The Badgers, saw Dominic Caforia, Josh King and Cory Chase net goals in Johnson's winning effort. Freshman Sean Springer and senior captain Noi Jones also registered assists. 

Junior Alex Pakatar earned his second win of the season making two saves.  Jose Villagran was saddled with the loss for Fisher with three saves.

The Badgers left a mark early in the first stanza, just eight minutes in after Springer fed Caforia a ball that found the back of the net to make the score 1-0. Just 14 minutes later King made a drive to the net and passed the goalie unassisted giving the Badgers a 2-0 lead heading into the half. 

Cory Chase scored the third and final goal of the game just four minutes into the second half. The Badger defense stayed tight for the next fourty miuntes giving the team and Pakatar a clean sheet for their second victory of the weekend. 

Johnson State resumes their schedule on Saturday, September 13th with a match against Mitchell College at 1:00pm.
