The Newbury men's soccer team earned a 3-1 win against Johnson State (1-2) Saturday afternoon in the Norwich Cadet Classic. Johnson Freshman John Folsom was named to the Norwich Cadet Classic All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the weekend. 

Dominic Caforia scored the Badgers' lone goal off of an assist from sophomore Sean Springer.

In the first half, Emmett Dixon tallied he knocked in a goal off of a feed from Kevin Teixeira.  His goal came in the 24th minute quickly followed by German Canales' goal to put the Nighthawks up 2-0 at the half. 

The Badgers came out hot knocking in the first goal of the second half. Unfortunately, twenty minutes later, the Nighthawks answered twenty minutes later, sealing the win 3-1.

Senior goalkeeper Alex Pakatar made 11 stops in the losing effort while Jarrod Smith stopped four shots. On the day, Newbury held a convincing 28-10 shot advantage and a 5-3 edge in corners.

Johnson will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Pottsdam for a 7:00pm game.
