Men's Soccer Announces Second Set of 2017-18 Recruits

JOHNSON, VT. - Johnson State College Head Men's Soccer Coach Shane Bufano announced today the remainder of his 2017-18 recruiting class. 

In addition to the previous group announced, this will provide the Badgers 19 total newcomers for the 2017 fall heading into preseason on August 21st.  "The coaching staff and I are excited to see what this group of Badgers can bring this season. We will have a lot of great scoring options and hope to have the ability to mix both direct and possession oriented styles in with the different weapons we'll have. It should be a great year and the team as well as the staff are looking forward to getting started next week."  The Badgers previously released their first set of 2017 incoming commitments, which can be read HERE.

ROBERT BUONANNO

Hometown:  Wolcott, Vt.

Club: Nordic SC

High School/Last College:  Stowe/Saint Michaels College

Before Johnson/Awards and Personal:  Vermont Division 3 All State Selection, First Team All Capital League, Twin-State player.  Robert appeared in 9 games for Saint Michaels College (NCAA D2 of the NE-10) as a striker before transferring to Johnson.  In high school, was a two-time Vermont Division 3 State Champion with Stowe.  Scored in the 2013 Vermont Twin-State Lions Cup All-Star game.

 

 

 

 

MARCUS HOLMES

Hometown:  Johnson, Vt.

High School/Last College:  Lamoille Union/Castleton

Before Johnson/Awards and Personal:  Marcus was a 2-time All Mountain League selection (2014 and 2015) at Lamoille Union.  After graduation, Marcus played a year of club soccer at Castleton University before transferring this summer to Johnson.

 

 

 

 

CHRISTOPHER TRIVIERES

Hometown:  Georgia, Vt.

Club: Blackwatch Premier

High School/Last College:  BFA St. Albans

Before Johnson/Awards and Personal:  All Metro League Selection (2015) at BFA St. Albans.  During his club career, he won the Vermont State Cup 4 times, including a trip to the USYSA Region I Championship Final.

 

 

 

 

ALEX VETERE

Hometown:  Craftsbury, Vt.

High School/Last College:  Hazen Union

Before Johnson/Awards and Personal:  Vermont Division 3 All State Selection, First Team All Mountain League.  Scored a team high 21 goals in his junior season for Hazen Union, including a goal in the Vermont Division 3 State Championship game against Stowe.  Alex was also a Vermont Division 3 All-State and First Team All-Mountain, and Twin-State selection for basketball as well.  Alex will be a sophomore at Johnson as he played on the Men's Basketball team last season shooting 38.5% from 3-point range. 

 

 

 

 

CHRISTIAN WAKEMAN

Hometown:  East Bridgewater, Mass.

High School/Last College:  East Bridgewater/Burlington College

Before Johnson/Awards and Personal:  Christian comes to Johnson State from Burlington College to finish his degree in woodworking.  He played his varsity soccer at East Bridgewater High School in Massachusetts.  He also participates in Track and Field.
