
BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Johnson State College men's soccer team fell to Southern Vermont College 3-2 in a non-conference match on Thursday afternoon. Dominic Caforia (Waterbury, Vt.) scored two goals to bring his team leading season total to nine.
SCORING
1st Half: The Mountaineers (1-7, 0-0 NECC) got on the board early with a goal by Lee Dennis in the third minute. SVC doubled their lead in the 19th minute on a Nick Langat goal to take a 2-0 lead. The Badgers (5-3, 1-0 NAC) got on the board in the 32nd minute on a Caforia goal following a failed clear. The Mountaineers answered back in the final minutes of the half with a Jared Lacoste goal.
2nd Half: Caforia pulled the Badgers within one in the 56th minute, but Johnson was unable to even the score and fell 3-2.
