Badgers Close Out NVU Invitational With 4-0 Win

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University- Johnson men's soccer team capped off the Northern Vermont University Invitational with a win against Vermont Tech on Saturday afternoon.

Four Badgers scored on Saturday afternoon earning their first victory of the 2019 season on Saturday. Junior Tyler Cirillo started the day off strong scoring the first goal for the Badgers off an assist from teammate Elliot Hanna. The Badgers continued to attack the Knights and controlled possession of the ball as they capitalized on two more goals in the half. 

In the 42nd minute Cirillo capitalized on a goal of his own off an assist from Hanna. Aibek Allan Bijanov continued his impressive performance from the match before scoring off an assist from Marquiss Cruz

It was a back and forth beginning to the second period. The Badgers out shot Vermont Tech 14-5 in the second stint. Tristan Salgado continued the pace for the Badgers as he capitalized on an unassisted goal to put the Badgers up 4-0. For the contest Johnson outshot Vermont Tech with a combined total of 22-3 shots on goal. 

Goalie Zach Blaser had a perfect day and remained in net for the Badgers while saving three shots.

With the win the Badgers improve to 1-1 on the year.
