WATERVILLE, ME- The North Atlantic Conference office announced on Monday afternoon that NVU-Johnson's Aibek Allan Bijanov has been named the men's soccer NAC Rookie of the Week.

In limited minutes freshmen Aibek Allan Bijanov scored in each game of the Northern Vermont University Invitational hosted by NVU-Lyndon this past weekend.  Bijanov tied the game mid second half of the opening game against Fisher in an eventual 2-1 loss.  He also added a second goal in the 4-0 win vs Vermont Tech.  He was able to play 4 different positions for the Badgers in very limited minutes off the bench each game, coming in and providing a spark.

"I'm excited to see how Aibek progresses as we continue the season.  We weren't planning on having him play much if at all since he hadn't been in the US for more than a week and we wanted to slowly integrate him in with the guys, but with some untimely injuries from practice we ended up needing to bring him off the bench", said Head Coach Shane Bufano. "He made an immediate impact in his time and as he continues to spend more time working on his game he will be a fun player to watch"
