Strong Second Half Lifts Kangaroos Over Badgers

CANTON, NY- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team dropped a North Atlantic Conference game on the road against SUNY Canton Sunday afternoon. A strong second half secured the 2-0 win for the Kangaroos.

SCORING

1st Half: It was back and forth for the entire first half. The Kangaroos controlled the tempo and created opportunities to attack the Badger defense, but Zach Blaser was strong stopping the attack and making saves for the Badgers. Shots by Marquiss Cruz, Jack Batttistoni, and Aibek Allan Bijanov were saved throughout the half as both teams remained scoreless in the first stint of action.

2nd Half:The Kangaroos came out and connected early in the second half as Shayne O'Neill netted a goal off of a double assist from Brandon McCorriston and Pedro DeSouza in the 52ndminute. The Kangaroos were ignited from their initial goal and struck again in the 55thminute off a goal from Jacob Deuel, assisted by Shayne O'Neill and John Gonzalez.

With the loss the Badgers move to 2-4-1 and 0-2 in NAC play.
