JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team hosted Bryant and Stratton (Albany) in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon.
SCORING
1st Half: The Badgers controlled possession for most of the first half. It was Jack Battistoni who struck first scoring a goal off a double assist from Daniel Arriola and Robert Buonanno in the 31stminute. The Badgers recorded six shots in the first half and the Bobcats recorded three. Goalie Zach Blaser made a save to slow the Bobcats attack as the half came to a close with NVU-Johnson leading 1-0.
2nd Half: Tristan Salgado ignited the Badger offense in the second half scoring a goal in the 61stminute off a cross from Buonanno. In the 67thminute of action Buonanno scored a goal of his own off an assist by Aibek Allan Bijanov. The Badgers eventually closed the game by a score of 3-0.
Blaser recorded five saves on the afternoon.
With the win the Badgers improve to 3-4-1 on the season.
