Paul Smith, NY- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team defeated the Paul Smith's College Bobcats on Wednesday evening by a score of 6-0.
SCORING
1st Half: The Badgers win came behind a strong performance by freshman midfielder Marquiss Cruz. Cruz scored the first goal of the contest in the 2ndminute of action off an assist from Aibek Allan Bijanov.
Cruz continued to be impressive setting up his teammates for back to back goals in the 16thminute of play. Jack Battistoni and Bijanov extended the lead to 3-0. In the 41stminute the Badgers were awarded a free kick that resulted in Cruz's second goal of the evening. Paul Smith's struggled to find opportunities to score and
2nd Half: Daniel Arriola scored his first and fifth goal for the Badgers in the second half off an assist from Cruz. With just six seconds remaining Robert Buonanno scored the sixth and final goal for the Badgers on a free kick.
Ryan Willette earned the win in goal for the Badgers playing 90:00 minutes.
With the road win the Badgers improve to 6-4-1 on the season.
