Zachary St. Amour Commits to Head Coach Shane Bufano and NVU-Johnson Men's Soccer for 2020 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer program and Head Coach Shane Bufano continue to add commitments for the 2020 season. Bufano and the Badgers announce the commitment of Zachary St. Amour.

Zac comes to Northern Vermont from nearby Milton High School.  He will join current Badgers on the soccer team from Milton, Elliot Hanna, Jack Battistoni, and Aidan Flynn. A native of Milton, Vermont, Zac is a multi-positional threat with blazing speed as he plays defense for the Milton High School Yellowjackets, but is a prolific scorer for his club team, Queen City FC. For the Yellowjackets in his senior season, Zac scored 3 goals and dishes out 7 assists from the defensive line. This past fall, his Milton team reached the Final Four in the VSCA State Tournament, before falling to Stowe High School, the 7-time repeating State Champion.

While at Milton, Zac lettered on Varsity for three seasons contributing to a 31-16-3 record over that time.  During last club soccer season, as a high school junior, Zac's U-19 Queen City FC boys team competed in the Badgers 2019 Spring Invitational contest that also included games vs NVU-Lyndon, and Paul Smith's College.  He has also competed at the Varsity level for Milton High School in Basketball and Track and Field.

Head Coach Shane Bufano is very excited about the addition of St. Amour and believes he will make an immediate impact for the men's soccer program this upcoming season. "I'm really excited to have Zachary continue his academic and athletic career with me at NVU-Johnson," said Bufano. "I have coached Zachary and his little brother for over a decade at the club level and know that we are getting a great kid from a fantastic family.  He is also an exceptional athlete that reminds me of myself as a player with his skill set as a forward."

When arrived at Northern Vermont University-Johnson St Amour plans to pursue a degree in Business with a focus on Sports Management.

The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer program and Head Coach Shane Bufano will continue to announce additional commitments in the upcoming weeks.
