On Saturday afternoon, the Badgers Men's Soccer team captured a decisive 3-1 victory over Lesley University at home.
SUMMARY
The Badgers secured up a solid win at home, defeating Lesley University 3-1 behind a strong first-half performance and clutch second-half goalkeeping. Jonathan Cayole led the Badgers with 2 goals, with Josiah Phillips adding a goal of his own, and Fabrice Kerozene contributed an assist in the commanding victory.
The Badgers struck early in the 4th minute, as Phillips found the back of the net off an assist from Kerozene. Johnson continued to apply pressure, with Oakley Francis and Kerozene forcing Lesley's keeper to remain agile between the posts. In the 26th minute, Jonathan Cayole doubled the lead with a scorcher between a line of defense, providing the Badgers a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
Lesley responded early in the second half with a goal in the 51st minute, narrowing the gap to 2-1. Despite the brief momentum shift, Lucas Gehring remained composed in goal, posting seven second-half saves, including a diving stop in the 65th minute.
With tensions high surrounding the one-score differential, Cayole sealed the win with his second goal in the final minute, capping off a composed team performance and securing the 3-1 victory.
