Rutland, Vt. – The Badgers opened their season with a 9-0 loss to conference foe Castleton State College on Saturday. They now stand 0-1 overall and in the North Atlantic Conference. 

In singles, Luca Keushguerian (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy) (No. 1) went 6-3, 6-2 and Junior Cory Chase (Milton, Vt., Milton) (No. 2) went 6-0, 6-1. The Badgers were unable to win any points in doubles, dropping all three sets by an 8-0 final. 

Johnson faces Green Mountain next on Wednesday, April 3rd.
