Badgers Edged by Golden Flyers in Opening Match

NEW PALTZ, NY- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's volleyball team traveled to SUNY New Paltz for their last tri-match of the inaugural season. The Badgers dropped the first match of the evening to Nazareth by a score of 3-0. 

The Badgers dropped the first three sets by a score of 25-7, 25-9, and 25-4 against the Golden Flyers. Johnson was led by Ryan Willette who contributed two kills and four digs. Nicholas Audet added one kill and two digs.

The Golden Flyers started the first set firing as they went on an initial 10-1 run. An attack error by Nazareth earned the Badgers their second point of the set and the serve. The Golden Flyers continued to be impressive controlling the remainder of the set and ultimately winning by a score of 25-7.

The Badgers continued to give their best effort, but the Golden Flyers sustained their strong attack and took set two by a score of 25-9 and closed the match winning the final set by a score of 25-4.
