Men's Volleyball Splits Four-Game Weekend Series

BROOKLINE, MA - The Vermont State University Johnson Badgers traveled to Brookline, MA on Friday to face the Fisher College Falcons in an evening double-header. A neck-and-neck first set in game one fell in the favor of Johnson, who came out on top 28-26. The second and third sets would not be as evenly matched, highlighted by two 6-0 runs in set two, with scores of 25-14 and 25-18 to secure the win for the Badgers in the opening match. Following a brief reset, the two teams faced off again for the second time in the evening, resuming the previous game's momentum with a 25-12 opening set, won by Johnson. While the Falcons would battle through a 25-20 second set, the Badgers would ultimately take their second win of the night with a final game score of 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, and 25-15).

Sophomore's Luke Walters and Sam Munson led the court as the top two scorers, with 16 and 12 points in the first game, respectively, while senior Patrick Holmes and sophomore Carter Hubley led the court in game two, with 12 and 10 points, respectively. 

On Sunday, the Badgers traveled to Aurora, NY to play the Wells College Express, where they dropped both matches 3-0. The Badgers fared their best in the second set of game two (25-20), where they were able to most consistently string together batches of points and find their rhythm. On Sunday evening, Walters led the Badgers with a total of 18.5 points and 23 digs.

The Badgers are next on the road Wednesday, February 21st, facing SUNY Potsdam.
