JOHNSON, VT – Patrick Holmes wrapped weekend back-to-back games for the Johnson Badgers with smiles from his teammates, recording three straight kills facing game point en route to his 100th career kill. The strong finish was the theme for the men's volleyball team this weekend, as the third set from both Friday and Saturday matchups were the strong points for each game.
While Saturday's matchup against Nicols College ended 3-0 in the Bisons' favor, a 20 point third set put the Badgers in position to extend the game. Luke Walters led the Badgers in points and kills with nine and eight respectively. Teammate Spencer Tergeoglou contributed 11 assists while Patrick Holmes and Sam Munson combined for 11 kills (five and six respectively).
The night before, the Badgers hosted Sage College and, while dropping the matchup 3-0, put up a strong effort, keeping the opening and closing sets close with 17 and 21 points. As done Saturday, Walters led the Badgers in points, with eight, alongside seven kills. Also maintaining a consistent role through the season, Tergeoglou added eight assists with five digs.
The Badgers return to the court for their season finale with a doubleheader this Saturday at Eastern Nazarene, with a game time set for 1 pm.
