The Badgers returned to the court Saturday afternoon for a tri-match against Emerson and Curry, at Curry College. After dropping their first match against Emerson, 3-1, the Badgers took the win from Curry in five sets, 3-2.
SUMMARY
After leading the Badgers against Emerson with 17.5 points, Luke Walters continued his dominance against Curry, posting career-highs of 25 points and 22 kills, both the second-most for Johnson this season. Curry opened the match strong against Johnson, taking the first set 25-20, only to be evened by the Badgers in the second, 25-20 in their favor. The third set saw three lead changes until Johnson pulled up one 10-9, not relinquishing the lead for the remainder, taking the third again, 25-20. Conversely, Curry shot out to an early lead in the fourth, pushing the match to a decisive fifth set in 25-17. Johnson put on a display of dominance in the fifth, closing out the match in 15-8 to take the win against Curry.
