Johnson men's cross country opened the season with a seventh place finish in the 11 team Mayflower Kick-Off hosted by New England College.  The men from Babson College would take first place for the third straight year followed closely by Gordon College and Salve Regina University.

Leading the way for the men was Mark Gulesian who picked up his third victory in three season at the Mayflower Meet running the 5K race in a time of 16:09.  Gordon College's Neal Hulstein  finished second with a time of 16:15 followed by Colby-Sawyer's Benjamin Bunnell
