Southern Vermont College earned first place honors in the Johnson State College Invitational women's cross country race hosted at Johnson State on Saturday morning. The Mountaineers' Justin Ferguson finished the course in 27:21 taking first place out of a field of 43 runners.
For Johnson, senior Brendan Walsh took 4th overall completing the 8k course in 29:23. Teammate Steven Lamonde placed 8th finishing the race in 30:18.
Thomas College finished second followed by hosts Johnson State which took third. SUNY Canton and Green Mountain rounded out the field of five in fourth and fifth respectively.
