Lyndon plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a hard-fought 3-2 come-from-behind victory over rival Johnson State in North Atlantic Conference softball action.

Kiya DeWitt ignited the winning rally by drawing a leadoff walk. Shelby Sheridan  followed with a bunt single that pushed DeWitt into scoring position. Dakota Crane  came through with a run-scoring single that tied the game and Taylor Young won the game with a single to right.

Katie Davis went the distance to get the win allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out four and walking two. Young was a perfect 4-for-4 in the game with a double and two runs scored and Crane went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs. Sheridan chipped in two hits and two runs scored.

Andrea Williams took the loss, allowing three earned runs on 11 hits while fanning two and walking two. Alex Bean had two hits for the Badgers and two runs scored.

In the opener, Johnson jumped out to 4-0 lead before the Hornets rallied for six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-4 lead. A leadoff double by Crane got things going as Young followed with a run-scoring double. Two batters later Carl knocked home a run with a single and came plateward on Katie Ste. Marie's two-run single. Sheridan then capped the rally with a triple into the left field corner.

Single runs by the Badgers pushed the game into extra innings where the visitor's emerged victorious by a score of 9-7.

Williams went the distance to get the win allowing six earned runs on 13 hits while striking out 12 and walking three. Bean was 4-for6 in the contest while Williams, Shannon Grier and Amanda McLean collected two hits each.

Davis was saddled with the loss allowing only two earned runs on 14 hits while fanning eight and walking three. Ste. Marie had three hits to pace Lyndon and the trio of Crane, Young, Carl and Davis had two hits each.  

Lyndon returns to the diamond Thursday when it hosts Plymouth State in a doubleheader that gets underway at 3:30 p.m. Johnson will travel to St. Joseph's College on Sunday for a non-conference double header.
