Claremont, FL- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's softball team early attack wasn't enough as they fell to the College of Saint Elizabeth by a score of 11-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Badgers opened up strong scoring the first run of the contest in the top of the 1stinning. Mary Richardson (Vernon, Vt.) recorded the first run batted in as Savannah Dufrense (Swanton, Vt.) scored first for the Badgers. The Eagles had their chance to score in the bottom of the first and they capitalized scoring three runs to take the early 3-1 lead over the Badgers.
The Eagles continued to be effective offensively driving in three runs in the second inning. The Badgers eventually closed out the inning trailing 6-1. Nicole Mooney (Hillsborough, N.H ) recorded the second hit for the Badgers but the offensive attack was limited as the Eagles scored one run in thwe third inning and four runs in the fourth inning to close out the game with a 11-2 victory.
With the loss the Badgers fall to 1-8 on the season. The College of St. Elizabeth improves to 1-0 on the season.
