JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson softball team were overcome in the final game of Thursday's doubleheader as the Husson University Eagles scored in all five innings while holding the Badgers to only two runs on the game. With the loss the Badgers drop to 3-16 overall and 2-3 in conference play and the Eagles improve to 13-8 and 4-1 in NAC play.
Offensively, the Eagles bats were powerful with Alyssa Prest hitting her first collegiate homerun and Morgan Coleman adding on a homer for her first this season, but the Badgers began fighting back scoring their first run of the day in the bottom of the first. Laura Dattilio led off with a single to get the ball moving as she worked her way around the bases on groundouts. Mary Richardson was the only other Badger to record a hit for the contest. Emily Marshall recorded a steal for the Badgers, but the team struggled to find a rhythm as they left Badgers on base for most of the game.
After the first three innings the Eagles had a comfortable 10-0 lead and cruised to victory winning by a score of 27-2.
