Badgers Battle Pioneers in Non-Conference Contest

CLERMONT, FL.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's softball team faced off against Point Park University in their first of two games on Monday morning. The Badgers dropped the non-conference contest by a score of 15-2.

The Badgers were led by Laura Datillio who recorded one hit and drove in her first two runs of the season. Lindsey LaPerle got on base twice for the Badgers off a team high two hits and Jordan Galluzo recorded the only other Badger hit of the morning. 

The Pioneers held the Badgers scoreless in the first frame and capitalized in the bottom of the inning scoring five runs. After a routine play at first the Badgers closed the inning with a five-run deficit. 

The Pioneers continued to put the ball in play throughout the third frame scoring six runs. Another two-run inning in the third would pace the Pioneers to the win even after the Badgers posted two runs in the top of the fourth frame. 

The Pioneers would record 14 hits on the morning. Bridget Hamel pitched the duration of the game for the Badgers. Hamel recorded two strikeouts and one walk. 

With the loss the Badgers drop their third game of the 2020 Spring Games and move to 0-3 on the season.
