The Johnson Badgers faced the Lyndon Hornets Thursday morning, securing their first win of their Myrtle Beach trip in commanding fashion. The final score of 10-5 saw every Badger at the plate (11) record a base hit, with a team season high of 16.

SUMMARY

While the Badgers and Hornets stopped each other from scoring in the first, both found their respective swings in the 2nd, with Johnson striking first in the top of the inning. Olivia Davis set the tone for the Badgers, leading off the inning with a strong drive to right center, showcasing her speed as she extended the hit to a standing triple. A walk from Grace Allen was then followed by teammate Nikki Sweet's RBI grounder that drove Davis home and Allen to second. Riding the momentum, Emily Erdman and Audrey Tembreull added singles to bring the second inning total to four runs.

The fifth inning followed suit, with Kristie Zator capitalizing on an error that brought Erdman to first, sending her home with another triple on the day. The fifth was another display of riding team momentum, as Gabi Lafreniere's triple and Tembreull's single added to the run count to replicate another four-run inning. The Badgers ultimately took the win in a decisive 10-5 final score against Lyndon.
