Badgers Drop NAC Game to Husson

BANGOR, MAINE - The Johnson State College women's basketball team dropped a 70-46 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest to Husson University on Friday evening.

The Badgers fall to 6-7 on the season and 3-4 in the NAC, while the Eagles move to 10-1 overall and stay perfect in the conference at 7-0.

1st Quarter

Husson jumped out to an 18-4 lead five minutes into the first. Johnson chipped away the rest of the quarter and trailed 26-15 after one. Domonique Carter-Stanley (Norwalk, Conn.) led the way for Johnson with eight points in the first.

2nd Quarter

The paced slowed in the second, with the teams combining for just 11 points over the first eight minutes of the quarter. Husson ended the quarter with a 35-27 lead. Kasey DeGreenia (Concord, Vt.) led Johnson with six points and hauled in six rebounds in the period.

3rd Quarter

The Badgers held their deficit at eight early in the period, but Husson went pulled further ahead to close the period with a 57-39 lead. Sarah Voorhis (Nashua, N.H.) put in five points for Johnson in the third.

4th Quarter

Husson put the game away in the fourth, outscoring Johnson 13-7 to take the 70-46 victory.

Johnson Leaders

Carter-Stanley led the way for Johnson with 15 points, three assists and three rebounds. Ashley Goddard (Jamaica, Vt.) picked up a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. DeGreenia hauled in a game high 14 rebounds and tacked on eight points.

Husson Leaders

Kenzie Worcester led Husson with 16 points, while Darla Morales and Chandler Guerrette added 13 each.

Stat Breakdown

Husson edged Johnson in field goal percentage by a margin of 34.6% to 31.5%, while the Badgers shot 31.3% to Husson's 25.0% from three-point range. Rebounds were close with Husson holding a 48-44 edge, while Johnson turned the ball over 27 times to Husson's 14.
