CANTON, NY- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team fell to SUNY Canton by a score of 63-35 on Friday evening. With the lose the Badgers fall to 2-16 overall and 0-8 in North Atlantic Conference play.
The Badgers were led by Mariah Ramos (Lebanon, N.H.) who had her second double double of the season. Ramos scored a team high 14 points and added 16 rebounds. The Kangaroos had three players in double figures and were led by Breanna Cullers and Antanasia Chambers. Chambers contributed a double double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Cullers added 19 points.
The Badgers were behind after the first stint going down 14-11. A quick make from behind the arc propelled the Badgers to a 14-14 tie in the beginning of the second quarter. After the Badgers went on their initial run the Kangaroos took a double-digit lead headed into halftime leading 35-24.
The Kangaroos controlled the pace the entire second half, controlling the third quarter and leading 51-29 headed into the last stint of play of the night.
The Badgers couldn't find the basket in the fourth quarter and eventually fell by a score of 63-35.
