Women's Basketball Edged in NAC Contest

FARMINGTON, ME.-The Badgers of Northern Vermont University-Johnson traveled to the University of Maine Farmington Friday evening to compete against the Beavers in a North Atlantic Conference match up. The Badgers fell short in the final contest of the season against the Beavers by a score of 68-60.

The Badgers were led by three players that scored in double figures. Halie Tillotson, Ellery Kiefer were the top performers for the Badgers scoring 14 points apiece. Klaire Ware scored 11 points off the bench off the bench shooting an impressive 4-7 from the field. Kiana Johnson added seven point and a team high nine rebounds on the night.

In first stint of action, the Beavers outscored the Badgers 14-13 off an impressive performance from Page Brown who had a game high 15 points. The Beavers continued to control the pace and went into the half leading the Badgers 33-27.

The Badgers came out strong out of the break taking the third quarter by a score 18-17 but it was the beavers who took the final quarter edging the Badgers 18-15 to conclude the evening with a 68-60 win.

With the loss the NVU-Johnson women's basketball team drop to 0-14 on the season and 0-5 in North Atlantic Conference play while the UMF Beavers improve to 8-7 overall and 5-0 in the NAC. The Badgers return to action in Waterville, Maine tomorrow when they face off against the Thomas College Terriers at 3:00pm. In their first match-up this season the Terriers topped the Badgers by a score of 77-55.
