First Half Run Fuels Terriers Over Badgers in NAC Play

WATERVILLE, ME.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team concluded the weekend road trip against Thomas College on Saturday afternoon. The Badges dropped the contest to the Terriers by a score of 64-49

The Badgers were led by Amorette Rodriquez who tabbed 15 points and three rebounds on the afternoon. Ellery Kiefer recorded a double double scoring 12 points and a game high 15 rebounds.

It was the Terriers who came out of the gate strong outscoring the Badgers 23-8 in the first period fueled by a run from Karli Stubbs and Malorie Weaver. Thomas continued to attack offensively and maintained the pace headed into the half leading 43-20. 

The Badgers took the final two periods by scores of 16-10 and 13-11. Devin Libby anchored the Badger defense in the second half, but the late run wasn't enough as the Badgers drooped the conference game by a score 64-49.

The Terriers edged the Badgers shooting 33.3% from the floor and held NVU-Johnson to just 27.7%. Johnson won the rebounding battle controlling the boards outrebounding the Terriers 57-46. 

With the loss women's basketball fall to 0-15 on the season and 0-6 in conference play. They return to action on Sunday, January 26 against Norwich University.
