JOHNSON, Vt. — The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team hosted Husson University in a North Atlantic Conference matchup on Senior Night on Saturday evening. The Eagles captured the win by a score of 80-39.

Amorette Rodriguez led the way for the Badgers scoring a team high 13 points on 5-11 shooting. Senior Lindsey LaPerle added seven points for the Badgers. 

Husson opened the game with back-to-back layups before a jump shot and three-pointer by Rodriguez gave the Badgers the lead. Despite their turnover woes early in the game, the Eagles went on a 16-2 run to close the quarter with a 20-7 advantage. The Badgers defense gave the Eagles trouble in the second stint of action but Husson continued to control the tempo to take a 36-17 lead headed into the break. 

The Eagles continued their offensive barrage in the second half to escape Carter Gymnasium with an 80-39 victory after outscoring the Badgers 44-22 in the second half. The Badgers pulled down 23 rebounds to the Eagles 50 boards. 

With the loss, the Badgers move to 2-18 overall and 2-9 in North Atlantic Conference action. Husson improves to 13-7 and 10-0 in NAC play. The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball team will host Maine Maritime on Sunday, February 9th for a 12:00pm North Atlantic Conference matchup.
