Badgers Battle Falcons to 60-47 Loss

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's basketball program faced off in their second contest of the 2020-21 season on Friday evening in Carter Gym. The Badgers were edged by the Falcons by a score of 60-47.

The Badgers were led by senior forward Ellery Kiefer who tabbed a double double recording 18 points and 12 rebounds while shooting an impressive 10-14 from the charity stripe. Senior Jocelyn Pellerin added 13 points while capitalizing on two shots from deep late for the Badgers and freshman Gabriella Wardwell contributed nine points, and seven boards.

The falcons opened up the contest on an early 6-0 lead until Kiefer capitalized putting the Badgers on the board with a pair of free throws. The Falcons continued to be steady and closed the first quarter out leading 14-8.

Fisher controlled the second quarter off a strong effort from Misha O'Neal who finished with a game high 27 points, eight boards and eight steals and earned the lead heading into the half by a score of 29-19.

It wasn't until the final stint of action that the Badgers made a final push with Pellerin capitalizing on back to back threes to close the deficit to 12 points but it wasn't enough despite a late game push and the Badgers fall to 0-2 on the season and the Fisher College Falcons earn their first win of the season improving to 1-2 overall.
