Team Effort Falls Short as Roos Extend Winning Streak

CANTON, NY – The Vermont State University Johnson Badgers faced the SUNY Canton Roos Saturday afternoon, on the road for their final away game of the season. Johnson's game was highlighted by an all-around effort, with multiple Badgers leading the team in various categories. Gabby Wardwell continued her dominance under the basket, scoring 18 and grabbing as many rebounds. Isabelle Atkisson led the team with 3 assists, joined by Emily Ward with the same amount of blocks in just the first quarter alone. And to round out the team-wide effort, Sasha Khomutetsky led the Badgers with a season/career-high number of steals at five. Johnson tallied a total of 34 points, which was not enough to handle the Canton Roos impressive run that saw their winning streak extend to five.

The Badgers return home for their final game of the season, February 13, where they look to close out the season with a victory over VTSU Lyndon. Gametime is scheduled for 7:30 pm and will be led by a senior night ceremony.
