
WATERVILLE, MAINE – The Johnson State College women's lacrosse team fell to UMaine-Farmington 19-4 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday evening.
The Badgers go to 0-9 (0-7 NAC) on the season while the Beavers improve to 8-3 (6-2 NAC).
1st Half
Nichole Weeks (Barre, Vt.) opened the scoring 36 seconds into the game to give Johnson the early lead. UMaine-Farmington scored 13 unanswered over the next 22 minutes before Weeks ended the steak with her second goal. The Beavers tacked on two more to take a 15-2 lead into the break.
2nd Half
Weeks picked up two more early in the second, while the Beavers added for more to bring the final score to 19-4 in favor of UMaine-Farmington.
Goalkeepers
Samantha Bickford earned the win for the Beavers, allowing four goals. Naomi Quad (Morrisville, Vt.) made 12 saves in the loss.
Stats Breakdown
UMaine-Farmington held a 31-4 advantage in shots on goal and a 31-8 edge in ground balls. UMaine-Farmington completed 11-12 clear attempts, while Johnson finished 4 for 16 on clears. The Beavers were one for one on free position shots.
