Johnson Cruises By Daniel Webster

JOHNSON, Vt. – Johnson State College cruised to their second-consecutive 14-0 win by dropping visiting Daniel Webster College in non-conference women's soccer action Saturday at Minaert Field.  The Badgers improve to 2-1 overall, 0-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while DWC falls to 0-2, 0-0 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC).

Sophomore Chelsea Hostetter (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples Academy) tied a school-record for single-game goals with five on the afternoon and added a pair of assists as well.  Sophomore Amanda Frawley (Westford, Vt./Essex) added three goals and assist while sophomore Kelsie Perdue (Barre, Vt./Spaulding) netted two scores.  Junior Ally Bataille (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood) had a goal and two assists for JSC and freshman Mariah Palmer (St. Albans, Vt./BFA-St. Albans) had a goal and an assist.  Both Nicole Bordeau (Sanford, Maine/Sanford) and Bambi Patch (Johnson, Vt./Lamoille) had goals for Johnson.  Stephanie Fay (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) and Ashley Wentzell (Bradford, Vt./Oxbow) dealt out two assists and Sarah Clifford (Alton, N.H./Lakes Region) and Kristina Gorden (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) had a single helper.

Amber McCullock (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples Academy) and Kelley Lucia (West Chazy, N.Y./Clinton County CC) each played a half for the Badgers not recording a save with McCullock getting credit for the win.  The Eagles' Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass./Tahanto) made 25 saves as JSC finished with a 63-0 shot advantage.

Hostetter got the scoring going early for the Badgers scoring a pair of goals just 1:17 into the match.  The explosive forward tied the school-record, now shared with Casey Rusin, in the match's 66th minute on a penalty kick.

Johnson State will take to the road for a non-conference match tomorrow at Bay Path College with kickoff scheduled for 12 pm while Daniel Webster will travel to Gordon College in their next match on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
