Johnson Wins 3rd Straight, Beats Bay Path 7-1

LONGMEADOW, Mass. - Johnson State College women's soccer won their third straight match on Sunday at Bay Path College by the score of 7-1.  The Badgers scored five of their seven goals in the second half to improve to 3-1 overall, 0-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC).  Bay Path falls to 0-3 overall, 0-0 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) .

Red-hot sophomore Chelsea Hostetter (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples Academy) scored two goals and freshman Mariah Palmer (St. Albans, Vt./BFA-St. Albans) dealt out three assists to key the Badgers offense.  Nicole Bordeau (Sanford, Maine/Sanford) and Kyleigh Joseph (Hancock, N.H./ConVal Regional) each recorded a goal and a assist while Jen Ferrari (Westfield, Mass./Westfield), Amanda Frawley (Westford, Vt./Essex), and Kelsie Perdue (Barre, Vt./Spaulding) each had a goal.  Junior Ally Bataille (Waturbury, Vt./Harwood) contributed two assists.

Nicole Crossman (Winsted, Conn.) scored BPC's goal when she knocked home a loose ball off a corner kick by Lindsey DeFord (Enfield, Conn.).  That scored evened the game at 1-1 in the 17th minute following up a Hostetter goal just 2:43 into the match.

Kelley Lucia (West Chazy, N.Y./Clinton County CC) made three saves to pick up the win for the Badgers and Melina Isdith (Rego Park, N.Y.) was tagged with the loss despite making 11 stops.

The Badgers did not surrender a shot in the second half to pull away for the victory.  JSC has outscored opponents by an eye-popping 35-1 margin in the last three matches.

Johnson will host Green Mountain College on Saturday, September 17 at 3:00 pm in their next match, their NAC opener.  Bay Path will travel to St. Joseph's (Conn.) tomorrow for a 4:00 pm match in their next.
