Badgers Win 6th Straight, 2-0 Over Thomas

JOHNSON, Vt. – Johnson State College picked up their sixth straight win on Saturday by besting visiting North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent Thomas College by the score of 2-0 at Minaert Field.  The Badgers improve to 6-1 overall, 2-0 NAC while the Terriers fall to 1-7 overall, 1-2 NAC.

Johnson saw junior Ally Bataille (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood) score her sixth goal of the season and sophomore Jen Ferrari (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) tallied her fifth goal of the season.

JSC keeper Amber McCullock (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples) made five saves to earn the shutout while counterpart Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, Maine) stopped 12 shots.

The Badgers first score was recorded by Bataille who floated a shot just off and over the hands of Thibodeau in the 25th minute.  Sophomore Amanda Frawley (Westford, Vt./Essex) picked up the assist.

Johnson received their second score when Ferrari stole with ball at the top of the penalty box and blasted a left-footed shot just under the crossbar just two minutes into the second half making it 2-0 Badgers.

JSC travels to non-conference foe tomorrow for a 1:00 pm match against SUNY-Canton while Thomas will next play at NAC opponent New England College Saturday, October 1 at 2:30 pm.
