
CANTON, N.Y. - The Johnson State women's soccer team won their seventh consecutive match on Sunday by beating host SUNY-Canton 2-0 in non-conference action. With their fourth straight shutout the Badgers run the record to 7-1, 2-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC). Canton dips to 3-5 overall.
Johnson State junior Ally Bataille (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood) scored both goals with assist coming from sophomore's Jen Ferrari (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) and Chelsea Hostetter (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples).
Badger goalkeeper Kelley Lucia (West Chazy, N.Y./Beekmantown) made two saves to pick up the shutout win while Canton keeper Colleen Fagan made 11 stops.
Bataille's first score came just 2:34 into the match while her second score with just 4:36 remaining the contest proved to be in the insurance.
Johnson will travel to Maine for a set of NAC contests next weekend with a 3:00 pm kickoff at Husson University on Saturday and a 2:00 pm start on Sunday at Maine Maritime Academy. Canton moves on to play at the University of Maine-Presque Isle on both Friday and Saturday.
