
BANGOR, Maine - Johnson State women's soccer had their seven-match win streak snapped on Saturday as Husson tallied the game-winner with just :34 left in regulation to take the 1-0 decision. The Badgers dips to 7-2 overall, 2-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while Husson moves to 3-8, 2-1 NAC.
Husson's Amanda Gifford (Lee, Maine) won position during the flight of a corner kick by Marcella Francoeur (Danville, N.H.) in the match's final minute. Gifford was able to get a head on the ball and send it to the back of the net for the game-winner.
The Eagles Jessica Poulin (Albion, Maine) made two saves to pick up the shutout win while Johnson's Amber McCullock (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples) recorded seven saves.
Johnson moves on to play at Maine Maritime Academy at 2:00 pm on Sunday with match video available at http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/mma.portal. Husson will play host to Lyndon State College also at 2:00 pm on Sunday.
